Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame

Pennsylvania has an extraordinary rich sports history. Our state has
produced and been home to many of the all-time greats in virtually every type of sport and today maintains a great sports tradition in the major league, minor league, college, high school and other levels.

The purpose of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame is to perpetuate the memory of individuals who have brought lasting fame and recognition to the Commonwealth through their achievements in athletics. He or she may be an athlete, coach, an official, administrator, promoter, a media personality or anyone associated with athletics.

The organization was established in 1962 and is now incorporated as a 501-C-3 – non-profit organization under federal and state law. It has 28 chapters throughout the state and more than 7,200 members. Any member may nominate an individual for induction into the Hall. The Hall inducts 12 inductees on an annual basis, at a prestigious induction ceremonial, which rotates throughout the state.
