Promotional Statement

The Volleyball Hall of Fame operates the world's only museum and exhibit hall devoted to all aspects of the sport of volleyball. The Hall of Fame displays historical exhibits on the sport's great individuals, teams and organizations, and honors them in a special Induction Ceremony and other events in late October each year for their achievemets in the sport of
volleyball. Several of the Induction Weekend's special events are open to the public and free of charge.

With the explosive growth in the
sport's popularity, and the success of the Hall's Centennial celebration in 1995, the Hall has planned two major development projects. The larger of the two projects, development of a new complex featuring indoor and outdoor arenas for competitions and skills development programs along with a 25,000 square foot highly interactive exhibit hall, is currently being studied for
financial feasibility.

The second project involves expansion of the current 1,500 square foot exhibit into an adjacent 4,800 square foot area
and the addition of the Hall's first interactive multimedia exhibit. The multimedia program will cover the history of volleyball, from its invention
at the Holyoke YMCA in 1895 to the present. Sixteen video modules will
inform and entertain viewers of all ages, whether they are knowledgeable about the sport or just being introduced to it.

Completion of the current expansion is planned for June, 1998, with development of the
proposed new complex expected to occur during the next three to five
years.
