Promotional Statement
America's Motorsports Hall of Fame offers the most diverse presentation of motorized racing anywhere. Under one roof, it pays
tribute to machines and personalities from the world of Indy cars, stock cars, CanAm, Trans-Am, sprint cars, powerboats, trucks, motorcycles, aircraft, snowmobiles and more! A constantly changing collection of vehicles
representing the various types of motorsports is on display. Highlights include Art Arfons' Green Monster, Cale Yarborough's NASCAR Thunderbird, Mark Donahue's Trans-Am Camaro and Bobby Unser's Novi Special Indy car.
Taking center stage is the Hall of Fame showcasing the inspiring
stories of over 90 Heroes of Horsepower through stunning bronze sculptures and photographic displays. Other features include driver helmets and uniforms, trophies, memorabilia, racing videos and an arcade with driving
simulation games. Visitors can have their pictures taken while sitting in Brett Bodine's Quaker State stock car. Then they can challenge each other to head-to-head competition on the Museum's four lane slot car track.
Each June, just before the Detroit Grand Prix, is the gala black tie Induction Ceremony - a key date on the social calendar in the Motor City. Ongoing events include a monthly speaker series, bimonthly film series and the annual Motorsports Expo, a fanfest featuring 100,000 square feet of vehicle displays, collectibles and personal appearances by the
biggest names in racing. Business meetings, theme parties, motorcoach tours, club outings and school field trips are also on the regular agenda.
The "Heroes of Horsepower" gift shop offers the Midwest's widest variety of racing collectibles, souvenirs and rare autographed
items.
