Promotional Statement
When most people hear the the "museum", they normally don't think of "excitement".
We're out to change all that. Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Jackson is Mississippi's first museum designed
for the 21st Century.
Traditional artifact displays are enhanced through up-to-the-minute technology, connecting today's sports fans with champions past and present.
Touch-screen kiosks allow visitors to access rare archival footage (more than 850 interviews, biographical and achievement data) all with the touch of a finger.
Setting the stage for a visit to the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is a laser-disc multi-media theatre presentation narrated by ABC/ESPN anchor Robin Roberts.
A visit to our facility does so much more than let people get in touch with the history of sports and Mississippi's long roster of heroes. It lets you get into the game, too.
Through interactive technology, museum visitors can tee it up and play a selection of championship golf courses, pick up the old horsehide and see how tough their best pitch is (and how fast) against a batter eager to knock one into the nickel seats, or take penalty kicks against a very stingy soccer goalie.
For fans who've always dreamed of being play-by-play or color announcers, you'll get a chance to show your stuff in the "press box", where you get behind the microphone and make the call on some of the greatest plays ever made by Mississippi sports heroes.
Once people visit the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, they make a point of coming back - quite often with several hundred of their friends! You see, in
addition to becoming one of the South's top new attractions for families, tour buses and church or school field trips, more and more people are booking our spacious conference center. Complete with modern audio-visual equipment and a fully-equipped kitchen for banquets and luncheon meetings,
the conference center is a great place to huddle up with your team.
Located between the Jim Buck Ross Agriculture and Forestry Museum and Smith-Wills Stadium on Lakeland Drive in Jackson, the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum has ample free parking for both buses and private vehicles.
As museums go, it's a whole new ball game!
