Promotional Statement

The International Swimming Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit educational organization which is both a repository of information about the aquatic sports as well as an active facility in which to learn about, practice and improve skills while swimming and/or diving in the two Olympic size pools and diving pool.

Exhibits in the Museum consist of displays of over 550 international heroes highlighting athletes, coaches and contributors in the sport disciplines of swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized
swimming. These honorees include Johnny Weissmuller, Buster Crabbe, Eleanor Holm, Esther Williams, Natt Biondi, Mark Spitz, Mary T. Meagher, Greg Louganis, Tracie Ruiz (all of the USA), Alex Baumann, Victor Davis, Carolyn
Waldo, Silvie Bernier (CAN) and athletes from over 17 other countries. Photographs, movies, clothing, medals and memorabilia are all a part of each exhibit.

See the world's largest collection of Olympic medals ever permanently assembled in any one place as well as the 1920 Olympic flag, first ever flown at the Olympic Games. Silver cups and trophies date back
to the late 1800's and some of the swimsuits displayed were first worn in 1895.

ISHOF maintains the Henning Library, the world's largest
collection of aquatic books, periodicals, manuscripts and scrapbooks in existence. Via telephone, computer and personal visits, people from around the globe solicit research and information pertaining to all phases of aquatics.

ISHOF promotes programs in water safety, learning to swim, health and fitness, and competitive training. You can do it all from this worldwide focal point.
