Description
Team museum and hall of fame, established 1997, collaborative effort of the Atlanta History
Center and the Braves organization.
Promotional Statement
As baseball's oldest continuously running franchise, the Braves have more than 100 years of history to share with their fans, which is why the Ivan Allen Jr. Braves
Museum and Hall of Fame was established in 1997 as part of Turner Field. The museum houses more than 500 Braves artifacts and photographs that trace the team's history from their beginnings in Boston (1871-1952) to Milwaukee
(1953-65) to Atlanta (1966-present). Some of the most popular items include the bat and ball Hank Aaron used to hit his record-breaking 715th home run, the dugout bench from Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, the 1995 World Series trophy, and an actual railroad car the team traveled in for road trips through the 1950s.
BRAVES HALL OF FAME Hank Aaron, Bill Bartholomay, Lew Burdette, Del Crandall, Ernie Johnson, Eddie Mathews, Dale Murphy, Phil Niekro, John Sain, Warren Spahn, and Ted Turner are all members of the Braves Hall of Fame. Established in 1999, it honors those players,
managers, coaches, and other individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the Braves franchise over the years.
TURNER FIELD TOURS The Braves Museum and Hall of Fame is the starting point for Turner Field tours. Tours are offered year-round and include visits to Coca-Cola Sky Field; a Braves luxury suite; the press box, broadcast booth, clubhouse, and dugout; Scouts Alley, an interactive area that pays tribute to the art of scouting; and The Plaza.
