Promotional Statement

The American Sport Art Museum
and Archives (ASAMA) is dedicated to the tradition of artistically rendering the human expression that is sport. It is committed to the preservation of sport art, history and literature through the acquisition and display of works from around the world.

ASAMA is a division of the United States Sports Academy (USSA). The Academy is America's Graduate School of Sport. A non-profit graduate school designed to serve the nation and the world as a
sport education resource with programs of instruction, research and service.

Your tax-deductible membership donation or purchase of a
personalized brick on the "Sports Walk of Fame" contributes to the maintenance of the ASAMA museum and the development of local,
national and international exhibits and events. Since 1984 ASAMA has sponsored the Academy's annual Awards of Sport program, "A Tribute to the Artist and the Athlete," which recognizes outstanding contributions and
achievements in the field of sport.

The ASAMA collection currently
contains over 1,000 art pieces in all mediums: paintings, sculptures,
prints, posters, photographs and assemblages. It is believed to be the largest collection of sport art in North America and perhaps the world.

The mural entitled, "A Tribute to the Human Spirit" on the face of the ASAMA building and Academy main campus, is an exceptional contribution by the great Spanish artist Cristobal Gabarron. The piece was painted during the Academy's 25th Anniversary Celebration and unveiled to the Alabama Gulf Coast on May 22, 1998.

The ASAMA Art Gallery and Sport Shop is located on the main campus of the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama, and is open to the public Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To join ASAMA or purchase an engraved brick on the "Sports Walk of Fame," simply fill out the membership form on our website at www.asama.org.
